Kapiti Basketball Associations recognises local athletes and volunteers after a stellar year!
At their recent AGM a number of amazing achievements were recognised by KBA. Rob Scriven said basketball is having an unprecedented growth in popularity not only nationally but also in this region. Recently we were able to recognise the achievements of not only some amazing athletes, but also some highly dedicated volunteers who give up their time in order to help local youth take part in a sport they love. The highlight this year was undoubtedly the achievement of the boys and girls u13 teams who achieved their best ever results on the national stage. We are so proud of them, and their achievements reflect that the recent investment in the ground roots in Kapiti is paying off.
The award winners were MVP u17 boys Iain Cowle, MVP u15 boys Sam Upton, MVP u13 girls Esther Roberts and Louise Scriven, MVP u13 boys Joshua Lotsu, Volunteer of the year Tim Upton, Coach of the year Michelle Scriven, Referee of the year Iain Cowle, and team of the year the u13 girls.
